As the English adage goes: ‘A picture is worth a thousand words.’ But sometimes a picture (and if we relate it to business in the form of a chart) just does not show enough. A chart shows trends, distribution, and additional indicators, but the numbers beneath – the pieces that make up the puzzle –should also be available in the chart, on-demand.

When generating charts in the Web Client for SAP Business One, you can now instantly call up the numbers behind selected chart elements. If you hover over any data piece, the total and a couple of more relevant details are presented:

You can select one or more elements to present their aggregated total. Clicking the “Details” link next to the total shows you a list of the included elements. In the brackets you can see the number which each selected element represents:

Clicking anywhere in the chart will clear all selections. Last but not least, the legend on the right-hand side does not only function as a legend. It can also show you the numbers behind a category (or more) if you select it:

In the above example, the “High Tech” category is selected in the legend. All the respective elements are highlighted in the chart and the aggregated sum appears above the chart. Clicking the “Details” link lists the numbers behind the total.
