Look around. What do you see? Inside and outside we are surrounded by brand names and products. Although some are simple everyday items and others are high-value and sophisticated items, they all have one thing in common. They are created through a production process, and the production order is a key step on the way.

Considering the possible complexities and dependencies, the production order is a sensitive yet flexible document that can be updated and adjusted throughout the process. What happens when an order gets canceled or closed? SAP Business One now allows for some room for updates in these cases as well:

Production Order

You can update the “Remarks” and “Pick and Pack Remarks” fields in various places including:

  • The form footer;
  • “Reference Document” on the “Summary” tab;
  • Attachments; and
  • User-Defined Fields (UDFs) on header and lines.

To ensure everything is covered, you have an option that enables you to define whether you want to update UDF’s when document rows are not editable. This is added to “Document Settings” and a respective authorisation is added to the “Authorisations” window:

Production Order

Available in Web Client for SAP Business One 10.0, and SAP Business One 10.0 version for SAP HANA. Please get in touch if you would like to upgrade to version 10.0.
